Theories
Good communication is vital to the efficient functioning of any business.
Communication basically consists of four parts: the sender, the message, the
medium and the receiver. The choice of medium - the way in which the message will
be sent - will depend on who is sending the message, who s/he is sending it to,
and on its content. In particular, businesses need to ask themselves what is most
important about a particular communication. Does it need:
- to be quick
- to be secret
- to be cheap
- a reply
- to be accurate
- a record to be kept
- to be received by many people
- to be received by only selected people
- to be formal
- to be informal?
