Global concerns about the environment have hit the headlines in recent years.
Amongst the most reported areas of concern are:
- pollution: the use of pesticides, insecticides and weed killers
- the build up of toxic waste materials which cannot be easily destroyed
- holes or gaps in the ozone layer
- global warming
- changes in weather patterns caused by environmental degradation (such as
felling rain forests).
